Description
The Boys' Group Home provides a safe, 30-day emergency residential placement
for teenage boys who have been placed in Division of Child and Family Services
custody or who are in need of specialized shelter placement because of abuse
or neglect. The group home offers boys a structured milieu with daily
activities, school transportation, community services projects, counseling and
education groups.

Volunteer Opportunities
* Youth Worker under staff supervision works directly with
youth, plans activities and serves as a positive role model.
* Guitar Instructor once a week conducts a group guitar lesson.
Guides boys' musical development and serves as a positive role model.
* Tutor teach boys in English, math, reading and writing to
improve their academic skills and help them develop a better attitude toward
school. Serves as a positive role model.
* Special Program Volunteer Plans and directs activities in
any area of interest such as quilting, drawing, etc.
* Short-term Projects Groups and families may assist the Boys'
Group Home by engaging in short-term special projects, such as collecting and
repairing clothing, making quilts, or compiling hygiene packets. For more

Volunteer Requirements
Background check may be required, depending on volunteer assignment.
Youth workers must be at least 18 years of age.
Training and Support
On-the-job training and on-going support will be provided by the staff.
